Tracking failed when track duration pushes source below horizon in the future

tracking works by generating a trackpath of timestamp and az,el positions.
If I track for say 86400 seconds, the source can go below the horizon which makes the track command failed and so no tracking. How do you proceed? Ideally track should have no time duration or? when i say track it should track until the source goes below the horizon or?
