Need to restart Rethink for any change (eg. allowing a domain or IP) to take effect

I've reported this issue in the past, but because I was using an older version it apparently hadn't the features that the newer version (0.5.5n and beyond?) would have which would solve my issue.

When I visit a website that is being blocked, say due to being on a blocklist, I then allow that domain, but the site will not be immediately accessible. I need to restart the app to apply that change.

I'm not certain, but I think it's hit or miss as for when this happens. Sometimes I never need to do this, sometimes I need to do it every time. I can't reliably reproduce it.

Are your queries cached ? But even then it should work immediately.
What's your upstream DNS server ?
To share my experience, I use NextDNS as upstream provider that one has a block page IP. I do also use cache in NextDNS and Rethink app. So when something is blocked and I have to unblock then I have to do in both places but even then Rethink resolves to the block page IP and it takes ages for the cache to be removed/cache again.

Right now if I see something block I allow in NextDNS first then unblock in Rethink so when Rethink resolves from upstream it can get the actual IP rather then the block page IP. That works for me like immediately.

Rethink's Home > Logs or Configure > Logs then DNS tab. Look for entries with 🚀 symbol. Clicking on the entry will also show if it was resolved by cache or not.

Try with cache being disabled. Create the same scenario and see if it's Rethink's cache issue.

Yes. Check if the issue is resolved when its disabled.

Issue persists, and I'm noticing more frequently that when doing a duckduckgo search (for example), after having not used my phone for say 20+ minutes, it will take a long time for the page to load.

Usually Rethink will say "DNS server is down" and Wireguard will say Inactive (despite being active) after not using my phone in a bit. Then when I use the internet for something it eventually works.
