I had converted the two remaining raster figures in the CF conventions from pdf to svg using a tool included with cairo. The original author of those figures, @neumannd, offered to create the SVGs directly from the R source, which reduced the total file sizes for these figures to about 14kb down from ~340kb.
@neumannd also provided the R source that generates these figures, right now we have the source files alongside the images they generated in the images/ directory. So the question here is: is this OK? is there a better location to store the source files? Should we also try to find/include how the other figures were made if we can?
