standard_name for probability of exceeding various thresholds of volcanic ash concentration

Hello,

To represent of a volcanic ash cloud, we are producing concentrations and probabilities of exceedance for various thresholds of concentrations.

There is already a standard name for the concentrations : "mass_concentration_of_volcanic_ash_in_air"

I couldn't find a standard name for the probabilities of exceedance, but, as these probabilities of exceeding a threshold are quite common with ensembles for various fields (wind speed, rain, waves, ...), I was wondering if there was already a way to define/derive a standard_name for the probabilty of exceeding some volcanic ash concentration thresholds.

There isn't yet a general way to do this, although there have been previous discussions and we may need to design one if many are proposed. For the probability of exceedance, I think you'll need a new standard name with above_threshold in it, like other existing names with that pattern.
