Hi @LuisOfL : CHAOSS has not decided about participating in GSoC 2026 yet. The main thing I am waiting for as it pertains to Augur, is to see how/if Google addresses the rather serious issue of applicant's using AI, which is leading to larger and more complex PR's and applications to review ... and 8x more applications last year than ever before. If Google is not able to address this through policy, from an Augur perspective I think we are likely to lean heavily on contributors who have been with us and made contributions already and it is less likely an application from an entirely new person will succeed. That's not a choice we have definitely made, and not one I treat lightly. We want to be welcoming for newcomers, and the nature of the GSoC experience for maintainers makes it increasingly challenging to view brand new folks at the application time in the same way as folks who have been poking around a bit before GSoC opens. Most of these thoughts are consistent with the discussion amongst OSS maintainers who have participated in GSoC. |

Good morning, and sorry for the inconvenience. I was wondering whether GSoC will be held in 2026, and if so, whether there is any guide with suggested project ideas.
