If a font or a font family has a condensed stretch face, the Copy pane doesn't show normal stretch face. Unless a font doesn't contains condensed stretch face.
for example:
The font Arial has "Regular" (normal) face and "Narrow" (condensed) face. By default, "Regular" is selected in dropdown, but the Copy panel shows in it's "Narrow" face. Try type some glyphs in the Copy pane to compare (e.g. letter o, show as narrower ellipse).
