Dimming all options apart from the one user hovers over?

Hi - I am trying to make all elements of chart dim or become semitransparent - apart from the one that user currently hovers over. Is this possible? I looked for solution here and on google and had no luck.
Is anyone able to help me with this?

Yes you can implement something like this: https://www.chartjs.org/docs/master/samples/legend/events.html
But then instead of doing it on the legend events do it with the normal onHover and change the backgroundColor for all the elements that are not the current active one
