Loglevel

Please consider a facility to change the loglevel of the ffmpeg calls. Currently, they are set to "warning." My ffmpeg.log is filling up with

frame=16947 fps=8.0 q=-0.0 size=45754200KiB time=00:35:18.37 bitrate=176936.8kbits/s dup=35 drop=9 speed=0.999x

One for every frame ....

PS: Solved it by adding this line to my app:

os.environ['FFREPORT'] = 'level=0:file=/var/log/ffmpeg.log'

I didn't understand your question. Will 'warning' profile of ffmpegcv disturb you syste? How can I reproduce your test-case?

Frankly, I don't know what made these lines appear. The environment line made them disappear.
I recommend a more flexible loglevel. For instance with a

cap = ffmpegcv.VideoCapture(file, loglevel=0)

Keep warning as the default.
