I just have aesthetic suggestions:

1. Node headers should be a little larger, to be more visible (separate them from widgets) and have a bigger bypass/mute button.
   I would suggest the same thickness of the group header.

2. Muted state should affect the opacity of the nodes instead of a gray overlay. I would imitate the nodes in graph as well as we do for bypassed state.

The Controller's dimensions are perfect for me.
If we need to, we can increase the font size, and the GUI will be scaled accordingly.

I think the Controller's header and text should always be larger, than on the nodes.
Because it's a "large thing" that contains many "smaller things".
Visually it makes more sense.

@LukeG89, in your images, the node's header seems too small, because the Controller's size it's not optimized.

Now that we have multiple Controllers, we can adjust the Controller's size for each type of widget.
If we want a large prompt area, we can put in another Controller ( see image below )

This would be easier to do once we have snapping :)

What works in the nodes graph, may not work in the Controller.
This seems to be the best way to differentiate, muted / bypassed, panels, in a more compact layout, with a darker background.

The ultimate goal of looking like a Comfy UI, is having better usability in the Controller.
I think the style is similar enough, so that the user can understand the link between the graph and the Controller.

I like the fact that bypassed and mute nodes have similar "brightness".
This helps us visualize that they are related features.

@LukeG89, In your second image, I can also see that you've set the Controller too wide, in order to fit all the tabs, without hiding the text.

  • it's the "bigger thing" containing the "smaller things" 😜
• Semi-transparent would work better than grey overlay
  • noticeble at a glance
  • no problem if you use grey colored nodes

And don't tell me how to use Controller! I can keep my windows as wider as I want! 😆

The node header's text is already larger than the widget's text.

But since the Controller has a more compact layout than the node's graph, the node's header text needs to be fairly close to the widgets, so that we visually understand they belong together.
We need to have less separation between the header text and the widgets, than what we have in between nodes.
I remember a while back, when the Controller was more spaced, and it was more confusing.

The Controller's background is darker than the node's graph background.
So a darker, more transparent node will not stand as much in the Controller.
Before we've got the "brighter panels", I think muted/bypassed panels had very bad visibility.

Once we have themes, ( #213 ) maybe it would be possible for the user to finetune the color of the background or other GUI elements to it's taste.

But I like the Controller's background color. I think it needs to be different from the node's graph background.
Otherwise, it would be visually confusing.

I've seen the new darker panels.

It seems to have better visibility than the previous dark panels. It could work.

The darker bypass panel, without a purple color, could also work, because the purple button stands out.

It may stand out more in the darker mute panels.

• In ComfyUI locked mode (Comfy.Canvas.ToggleLock), disable the ability to move controller windows, as well as their closing, minimizing, deleting ([Trash], [X], [_]) #297 (comment)

• Controller in focus mode #308 (comment)
