Mute not working...different reason?

I get this error when trying to mute:

gtk_widget_get_allocation: assertion 'GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

I'm using Xubuntu 24.04 with an i3 window manager.

i have the same error: the middle-click for mute does not work anymore. Debian 12, Openbox and tint2.

Edit: I uninstalled the Debian 12 package for pasystray 0.8.1 and installed v8.0.2 from the sources, now mute works with mouse middle-click.
