Wayland support seems partial?

Describe the bug

The application will not start on wayland.

Reproduction

1. Use wayland
2. Try to start the app

Expected behavior

It would just work.

I have the same issue with Cinny installed from Flathub on Wayland. Same error and log.

I'm facing the same issue. And here is how I fixed it (I'm using NVIDIA, GNOME and CachyOS with latest Cinny release on AUR, GitHub and Flatpak).

I tried all of them with the same issue. But since I had similar issues with other Tauri-based apps, I went for the same solution.

Set this environment variables when running it

WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1
WEBKIT_DISABLE_GPU_SANDBOX=1

But since this is not practical at all, I went for Flatpack and isolated environment variables.

flatpak override --user --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_GPU_SANDBOX=1 in.cinny.Cinny

And now I don't need to set them everytime I open it. This is not a solution for all environments and it could be problematic with other apps, so at this moment, using the Flatpak version seems the most secure to me.

Same issue on flatpak and appimage with Cinny 4.11.1. Originally I was disabling GPU access all together in flatpak. But the environment variables @JuanjoSalvador posted above are working for me.

WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1

Personally i run with that, and its working better than without compositing

My exec line in my .desktop is only

Exec=env WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1 GDK_BACKEND=x11 cinny (GDK_BACKEND=x11 is for the Qt decoration, without, it run with gnome decorations)
