I have installed Xibo CMS on Ubuntu Server 22.04 using Apache2 as the web server and enforcing TLS using this configuration. I have completed this using the autogenerated self-signed certificates for TLS (not trusted). You will need to follow another guide for creating public-signed certificates. I recommend using Let’s Encrypt with their certbot.

Brother, i have a problem when i check "systemctl status xibo-xmr.service", it gives me error code like : "xibo-xmr.service - Xibo XMR

I have exactly the same problem and I followed your tutorial by the letter.
On the pubOn IP I put down the IP adress that showed up when looking at the "ip a" command.

I only recently redid this install a month ago and it all worked fine. I will try again in the next few days to make sure.

I am seeing the issue. I have found that it is showing this error when running the command php /srv/xibo-cms/vendor/bin/xmr.phar

PHP Fatal error:  Unparenthesized `a ? b : c ? d : e` is not supported. Use either `(a ? b : c) ? d : e` or `a ? b : (c ? d : e)` in phar:///srv/xibo-cms/vendor/xibosignage/xibo-xmr/bin/xmr.phar/index.php on line 204

As a workaround, you can modify /etc/systemd/system/xibo-xmr.service and make it use php7.4 instead.

Nice write up, everything worked perfect, the only thing i cant do is upload media, gives me an error
SyntaxError: Unexpected token ‘<’, "<!DOCTYPE "… is not valid JSON

After update from version 3 to 4.0.9, i see on http://IP/login:

Composer detected issues in your platform: Your Composer dependencies require a PHP version ">= 8.1.0".

Could you help me?

If you followed my guide you would be using php 8.3 which is >= 8.1.0.

Here is the procedure i took to solve it:

Save existing php package list to packages.txt file

sudo dpkg -l | grep php | tee packages.txt

Add Ondrej's repo source and signing key along with dependencies

sudo apt install apt-transport-https
sudo curl -sSLo /usr/share/keyrings/deb.sury.org-php.gpg https://packages.sury.org/php/apt.gpg
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/deb.sury.org-php.gpg] https://packages.sury.org/php/ $(lsb_release -sc) main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/php.list'
sudo apt update

Install new PHP 8.3 packages

sudo apt install php8.3 php8.3-cli php8.3-{bz2,curl,mbstring,intl}

Install FPM OR Apache module

sudo apt install php8.3-fpm

OR

sudo apt install libapache2-mod-php8.3

On Apache: Enable PHP 8.3 FPM

sudo a2enconf php8.3-fpm

When upgrading from an older PHP version:

sudo a2disconf php8.2-fpm

Remove old packages

sudo apt purge php8.2*

It worked like a charm!

I tried to install the latest version of Xibo CMS (version 4.2.2)

Xibo checks whether all requirements are met when the page is called up for the first time.

Everything fits, except for the last step: GNUPG - check Gnu is used to verify the integrity of Player Software versions uploaded to the CMS

Would it be possible for you to extend the instructions for this step?

That would be really great!

If you change the URL from https://vb-signage.vogelbusch.local/install/1
to https://vb-signage.vogelbusch.local/install/2 you can proceed with the installation.

I will redo an install and update it all sometime shortly. You only need to apt install php8.2-gnupg to sort this out.

I think there is a mistake in the instructions.

The path to xtr.php in the crontab is not correct.
The instructions say /srv/xibo-xmr/bin/xtr.php
But the path is actually /srv/xibo-cms/bin/xtr.php

Thank you! I have updated with this correction. I have also updated a few things for version 4.2.2 and tested. It all worked perfectly.
