Uncaught ReferenceError: Circuit is not defined

After including the right circuit.js, when I run the example I get the following error on the browser:

Uncaught ReferenceError: Circuit is not defined at renderer.js:8

My versions are:
Node.js: 8.2.1
Chromium: 59.0.3071.115
Electron: 1.8.7

Hi @dsantaolalla, the newer Circuit SDK now supports UMD which means the SDK can be loaded as commonJS, AMD or browser global. Electron is a bit a hybrid (as long as nodeIntegration is enabled) as its exposing a "require" function to load commonJS modules. The Circuit SDK's package.json does specify to load 'circuit.js' when running as a browser, but unfortunately electron's renderer does not honor that flag (see electron/electron#1574). And to be able to use the Circuit WebRTC APIs the SDK needs to be loaded as a browser, not Node.js.

So in conclusion there are two ways you can include the Circuit SDK in an electron renderer.

1. require the circuit.js file in the renderer as shown here https://github.com/circuit/webrtc-bot-example/blob/master/renderer.js#L6. Note that the circuit.js is required and not just 'circuit-sdk'. This is to load the browser version of the SDK.
2. load the browser SDK in the index.html by ensuring its loaded as browser global module, see https://github.com/circuit/webrtc-bot-example/blob/master/index.html#L19-L26

The repo https://github.com/circuit/webrtc-bot-example has been updated with the latest electron and Circuit SDK version and works again. I will update this live-cam-bot repo soon.
