Setting MTU of a VM

Is there a way to use Tart to set the MTU of the VM Interface? I want enable jumbo frames to the VM. The host machines already are set on all active interfaces to 9000 mtu.

Unfortunately, the Virtualization.Framework that we use in Tart does not expose a way to set MTU when using VZNATNetworkDeviceAttachment, which is a default networking device for tart run¹.

For VZBridgedNetworkDeviceAttachment and --net-bridged it's the same, but it's possible that it could automatically inherit the parent interface's MTU².

For VZFileHandleNetworkDeviceAttachment, there's a maximumTransmissionUnit property, but we only it when --net-softnet or --net-host are passed to tart run.

1. Which networking mode are you using?
2. What's your end goal here? To make network transfers faster? Or something else?

Thank you for the reply. I have a Jumbo framed network, the host is set to Jumbo frames, so I was curious if I would be able to set the VM MTU to match. I did see the MTU in the VM was set to 1500 while the host itself was set to 9000.

I was using NAT not bridged, so that is probably why I did not pick up the NIC MTU.
