Project maintenance status?

Hello - thanks for all the great work on this project! I noticed this project hasn't received a merged pull request in a little while. I wanted to ask: what is the health of this project regarding ongoing maintenance? I fear without the ability to add changes that the project might sink to a state where it's unusable or out of date with best practices.
