Servers in other languages

Are there plans to officially implement servers in other languages, or will that be left to the community?

Not sure yet! This release has been way more popular than we were expecting and we're now looking at adding staffing to do all the things. :)

My best guess right now (but this is subject to change, and I don't have a timeline, sorry):

• Maybe we'll do a Python implementation, probably more-or-less transliterated from TypeScript.
• It's unlikely we'd do first-party implementations in any other dynamic languages as we don't have the expertise here.
• For statically-typed languages we're thinking about creating a bridge to Cap'n Proto, so you can write e.g. Rust and Go backends in Cap'n Proto and then call them using Cap'n Web from the browser. As part of this, we'd probably put Cloudflare engineers on improving the Rust and Go Cap'n Proto implementations to bring them to parity with the C++ implementation, whereas historically Rust and Go have been maintained by third parties

I was pretty interested, and I wrote the low-level types for capnweb for serializing the low-level protocol messages in rust, at least, which could be helpful:
