Applications do not show up on applications page

Im trying to install the file browser application but no applications are showing up on the page. I have hit the refresh button and still nothing

Without further details its impossible to understand what the issue is. What are you running Ubuntu/RHEL or Fedora? What Cockpit version?

sorry, you're right that was vague.

Running Ubuntu Server 24.04.3 fresh install with the latest cockpit version (installed yesterday).

I'm accessing the server over LAN using cockpit and ssh.

there doesn't seem to be a solution there unfortunately :(
what is the command to manually install the application? I tried sudo apt install cockpit-files and it said it couldn't find the package.

cockpit-files is not yet packaged in Debian/Ubuntu.

Do you know of any alternative file browsers that may work for uploading and downloading files easily? in use in a media server
