Multiple boundary conditions on the same boundary

Hi. We are trying to inject a liquid inside the computational domain. For the current implementation of ECOGEN, we need to use the unstructured mesh from gmsh to assign two different boundary conditions, Inlet and Non-Reflective, on the same boundary. The problem is that we are limited to the first-order scheme without AMR.

We want to use the second-order scheme, preferably with AMR, for our case. I understand that the Cartesian mesher native to ECOGEN does not allow two different BCs on the same boundary. If we want to implement such a thing, how do you suggest we might go about it? Is it as simple as using an if-else condition in the BC setup, or is it a much more complex implementation?

Hi @sidkamat,

I understand your preference for the Cartesian mesh. It is indeed possible to hard code this feature. You would need to instantiate a new object of type BC (of your choice) and look, for example, for the variable m_limXm in MeshCartesian.cpp and MeshCartesianAMR.cpp files where you could use a if condition based on coordinates (posX here) to create the new boundary on the cell face (m_limXm->createBoundary(cellInterfaces);).
