Figure out a good configuration management solution

Right now I have configuration mostly stored and configured locally. This isn't ideal as it'll mean that if I were to lose both my homelab and my local dev machine, I'd have to figure out configuration for various things from scratch. It would be better if this could be handled by utilising some other process
