As another data point, Jan 2025, we saw that the toggle to open a file in the Commit Detail Page that involves calling a gh api returned empty data resulting in the page spinning for a bit then a 404 page. It resolved by logging out and back in. This was likely because the gh token to call the api expired and needed to be refreshed with a login.

We may want a better helper text to get the user to log in again then redirect them back to the page where they encountered the error.

seems to just spin a bit then turns to a 404 page
segments.results was empty, potentially with the recent change in here . got distrcated before I could pin anything further down. Also kinda strange it was only broken for me in staging. were you seeing that issue in prod or staging?
I just had to logout login..
might have something to do with the github token expiring. we make a gh api call to fetch file content so it could be the oauth token there was invalid. and logging in again refreshes the token.
