For comparison, Syncthing or Tailscale need ports/VPN; DreamFactory I use for quick DB APIs. So, peer not server.

22+
- got a lot of flack in the thread for that,
23+
- > It seems like they are using X11 to make Flutter work on embedded systems. But that still doesn't answer the question: why the h*** would you expose this in a docker container. The web interface doesn't need one... I'll give it a go and just remove that X11 all together
24+
- > I don’t think I’ve had an open port to X since the 1990s. It was a great idea that didn’t work that well even back then.
25+
Most Linux machines are running Wayland now. Why on Earth would you develop an X application?
26+
- > It’s self-hosted but is using supabase as a backend. Yes you can self-host supabase too, but this is just cringe, same as the fact that there is no web UI but an X-based app you can use via docker.
27+
How hard is it to create a simple webapp that works in the browser and on mobile (preferable with an app for login).
28+
- People give them a lot of flack for using [[Flutter]]

- I tried forking Logseq, just for me - stop DB, RTC and AI stuff I don't need, fix most annoying bugs. I do know some Clojure and ClojureScript, but navigating the code, even with help of LLMs, was a lot.
5+
- At some point I even wanted to try from scratch. Rebuild main Logseq functionality in some more friendly stack. But only then I realized how many crucial.features it has. It would take month to build something that even starts to be comparable.
6+
- So in my opinion, Logseq is more or less unforkable, unless you have some really dedicated team to do so. I would love to be proven wrong.

- > So, as a hobby, on a small scale: No whiteboard, no flashcards, and no blockchain-based AI assistant. Instead, it's a PKMS based on Markdown files on the hard drive with a wiki and a journal, queries (kept very simple), templates, a context assistant, and diverse file support.

- Markdown-Oxide is a [PKMS](https://oxide.md/PKMS) that composes with your favorite text-editor through the [LSP](https://oxide.md/LSP).
4+
- While other [PKMS](https://oxide.md/PKMS) implementations include their own text-editors, markdown-oxide is unbundled: it leaves text-editing to a dedicated text-editor and focuses solely on robust, performant knowledge management.
5+
- inspired by and highly compatible with Obsidian.
6+
- The best-supported text editor is Neovim, but also popular with users are VSCode, Helix, and Zed.
