General metrics vs feature dimensions

I might have some confusion, but my understanding is:

1. MAP-Elites feature dimension metrics are supposed to not correlate too strongly with fitness. In other words, the evolution shouldn't be aiming to maximize these metrics.
2. In order for a metric to be a MAP dimension in openevolve it has to be in the metrics dict.
3. All of the metrics are treated as if they should be maximized in some places in the prompt.

If I haven't gone wrong here, maybe it would be an improvement to treat the MAP features/metrics differently from the rest of them? For example, don't tell the LLM it should be trying to maximize those metrics.
