Instance type error message not reflecting selected instance

I am still getting the message
"The mac_mini instance type does not support the selected Xcode version. Please consider using mac_pro or mac_mini_m1 instead."

Event though my instance is set to "macOS M1 Standard VM"

Any ideas of what I can try?

You can continue using the M1 machine with the latest Xcode version or switch to Mac pro machines with Xcode 14.2; you can do it in yaml by specifying instance_type: mac_mini_m1.

In our .yaml file, we use M1 for iOS and Mac_Pro for Android, this issue still appears even when we trigger only the Android build.

How else to make automated tests work if android emulators aren't available in m1?

Hi @vforvasile, probably your android workflow does not have xcode defined in yaml, therefore it defaults it to 14.3 and it is not available with Mac Pro machines. You can add xcode: 14.2 in yaml under the environment section of the android workflow in order to get rid of that error. Alternatively, you can use Linux instances for android where emulators are available ( Android emulators are available on Mac Pro machines as well)
