Versioning

Hi,

I have a new Flutter app (Android and IOS), and I have a few questions regarding the versioning of the app.

1. Can a different version be defined on the same build? So the Android version will get a different version than the IOS.
2. how can I define patch and build numbers to work simultaneously? So when the patch version increase, the build number is reset.
3. Is it possible to change the number in case of a mistake?

So in general, what is your best practice working with 2 different versions for each platform?

I already followed this guide but didn't find what I was looking for.
Here is what I am trying to do:
First, the structure of our version is {major}.{minor}.{patch}.{build_number}
Now, there are 2 types of releases in our case:

1. After getting the app from production.
2. After a validation round.

On the first type, the patch number should be increased by 1, and the build_number should be 0.
On the second, the patch value shouldn't be changed, and the build_number increase by 1.

Can you please advice what is your best practice on this case?

Will you be publishing the validation round app on the app store?

@himesh-cm, The app will be published to Firebase App Distribution, and only when the app is ready, we'll release it to the stores.
