Artifacts are copied as file aliases

Steps to reproduce

We have various artifacts that are copied after a build succeeds or fails, like so:

artifacts:
    - build/ios/test/*.xml
    - /tmp/xcodebuild_logs/*.log
    - /var/folders/**/*.log
    - $HOME/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/**/*.xcresult

Beginning 4/24 we've noticed that these artifacts are copied as file aliases instead of the actual files. I connected to the machine via VNC and saw that the artifacts are actually there, but for some reason the artifacts bundle only contains aliases.

Is there anything that's changed in the last week that might be affecting this?

Expected results

The artifacts are normal files.

Please share a buildID in case you still experience the same issue

When I download the zip zrchive with articfacts I see aliases instead of real files

@viavashchonak the deployed fix will affect only the new builds, not old ones, because the issue happened during the archiving of the files. Try to rerun the build, let me know if you still experience the same issue

here is the build we ran 3hrs ago 6811ae50a8e3f3e18c87c92b . It has the same issue

hey @viavashchonak since you are running a build on Linux machines instead of macOS, please set the ubuntu version to 24.04 in your yaml and retry the build. Let me know how it goes
