Build failure: Environment variables not passed correctly from Codemagic UI to Linux Runners

Steps to reproduce

We have an app that was building correctly until today. However, our recent builds have started to fail. When we accessed the build environment via SSH for debugging, we noticed that a few environment variables are being replaced with what appear to be Chinese characters.

Mobile frameworks:

• Capacitorjs
• Ionic

Solutions Tried (the problem persisted):
Deleted the existing keys and added them again,
Tried both available Linux runners to rule out runner-specific issues.

Expected results

The variables must be filled with the actual value entered from the UI.

Actual results

Variables values are being replaced with what appear to be Chinese characters.
