Add nodes for training new checkpoints and LoRA?

I'm wondering if it's possible to add nodes/capability for comfyui to generate new checkpoints, checkpoint merges, LoRA that can be shared with the larger community. I've looked and looked and the only thing I can find that's close is doing a checkpoint merge on the fly with the end result being generated images, rather than a new checkpoint model. Pardon me if I've overlooked something I am 3 months into using your software and am still learning much.
