It's already over a year now since I first installed ComfyUI, and in the process, I've experienced a rollercoaster of emotions; thrill when everything works so well, rage when nodes malfunction or updates cause issues, and sheer joy when it all comes together so perfectly. But throughout, I never gave up hope, and that's largely because of all the things I learned from this amazing community.
What you're building here is literally incredible! Having watched your video, First ComfyUI SF Meetup 2025-01-30 (on which I also commented), I was surprised by one fact: your profit/revenue from this project remains zero. Naturally, this is not surprising given the open-source approach, but after a year of billions of moments of gratification, in my view, it’s time for your work to be rewarded. The work of all the people who have been actively involved in developing ComfyUI, models and so many useful nodes has had a huge impact on our lives and evolution in AI, and (personally) I appreciate the effort and dedication that has been put in very much.
Can we as a community/normal users/startups/companies show our gratitude and appreciation to all the people who have been working on it? Is there an existing system in place, to support your and their efforts, such as PayPal, a bank account, or even an investment fund that eligible developers could access? Perhaps this hasn’t been a primary focus so far, but establishing a structured way to offer support could be highly beneficial. It would create a sustainable and mutually rewarding ecosystem, ensuring that the hard work and dedication behind this project continue to thrive - beneficial, healthy and useful in any win-win situation (as in this case).
