Project information

Describe your project
This project aims to provide a friendly, object-oriented I/O API and implementation libraries for Java Programmers to access the full I/O capabilities of the Raspberry Pi platform. This project abstracts away low-level native integration and interrupt monitoring, enabling Java programmers to focus on implementing their application's business logic. V4 (soon to be released) focuses on the integration of the FFM API, expanding it's reach to more single-board computers besides the Raspberry Pi.
Motivation for joining Commonhaus
Pi4J seeks long-term sustainability and professional stewardship of our project assets. As the project has matured over the years, we need a stable home for our trademarks, domains, and infrastructure that will outlive any individual maintainer. Commonhaus offers the governance structure and fiscal sponsorship that will ensure Pi4J continues serving the Java embedded systems community for decades to come, regardless of leadership changes. Additionally, we're looking forward to connecting with like-minded projects in the broader Java ecosystem and benefiting from shared resources and best practices.
