Weekly Dev Call

Hi everybody,

I've scheduled a weekly developer call for anyone whose interested in following along on the progress and any major new features to Commonware.

The link is public and open to anyone who would like to attend.

There seems to be slight issue with sharing an open Calendar invite. So I'll just share the next few here until I figure that out.

Is this conference actually happening? Last week's scheduled weekly technical meeting, I joined Google Meet on time but found myself alone, and after 15 minutes, I left since no one else showed up.😂

Weird! We had a few people there for ~50 minutes last week.

I entered the meeting through the link shared by Hari, and at that time, I was the only one there, which I found quite strange. Then, I tried to join using the link from the email invitation, but there was still no one there. I left after 15 minutes. By the way, I attended the meeting on January 7th at 9 PM UTC.

If that's the case, it's likely because I misunderstood the meeting time. Given that the project contributors are spread across the globe, I suggest we always publish the meeting time in UTC, so everyone can determine the correct time. Since some participants connect via VPN, the meeting time shown by Google Meet might not be accurate.

Ah interesting. That is probably it.

That's strange! The Calendar invite timezone is in my local timezone but from my understanding Google automatically adjusts it for the recipients timezone depending on their Calendar.

Could it be due to a daylights savings issue?

The invite doesn't look to be recurring on my side. Was that intentional?

Anytime! It's reoccuring in my Google Calender.

I just looked at the event in two weeks time and to share that, Google then generates a fresh invite. So while I think you can share a public calendar event, I believe it's restricted to only that one instance and not the reoccuring instance.

I'll do some more digging and see if I can figure it out

Just realized I'll be off grid this week backpacking in southern Oz.

The meeting invite will still work for everyone that wants to attend and catch up. So I'll leave everything up if anyone still wants to attend and catch up.
