The tool requires an active monitor or display driver. This is not available in 95% of cases.

Right, as I use my Host with GPU for LLM, Media Conversion and Streaming already, this would be a logical addition.
-> Provided I use LXCs and am not passing through the entire GPU to a Node already.

Considering the Setup Complexity a script would have to

• Enable the user to set the correct GPU to run the script against
• Allow for Driver selection, i.E. --driver NVIDIA*.run parameter - to have the same driver on the machines
• additional script to update GPU drivers to all GPU enabled LXC containers, if used on multiple nodes

Since I do those things for some of the LXCs i use already this does not complicate things for me much as I mostly can copy and paste past settings, but to have it provided with the needed updates for each service would be a godsent.

Provided those steps are taken care of, would they provide sense to add to existing projects - i.e. to enable the GPU usage with Immich (future?) or LLM, Media, Smarthome type stuff?

Just considering if this a timewaste or a good idea to follow on the base of integrating GPU as an option where it makes sense.

Lead developer of GOW here.

I just wanted to clarify that Wolf doesn't need a monitor, being able to work completely headless (not even an hdmi dummy is required) was always a goal from day 1.

As for external drivers they are only needed on Nvidia, Intel and AMD do work already out of the box thanks to Mesa. If you look at the quickstart guide the recommended option is to create a volume that will hold the Nvidia drivers and then just mount it to a known location is all you actually need. If you can run a bash script that should be fairly trivial to achieve.
