Could someone give some feedbacks about latest post install script and mobile subscription nag

Hello, As the title say,

Looking for feedbacks on the latest post install script that is in the dev repo. It should now remove mobile subscription nag.
Could someone try it out and report if it works well.

Somehow the subscription nag returned, so I tried to do the post-install script again. The nag persists and it is giving these errors for me (two different nodes, same errors).

We cannot help if you do not provide the commands as intended and do not answer the questions properly.

cat is pretty innofensive there so I do not believe this is what caused the issue.
The scripts only edits some javascript and html file for the new parts and the old part as been tested quite a lot so I'm having trouble to believe it is the cause of your issues.

Cheers, I managed to solve it. It was only tangentially related (the other node didn't connect to the cluster for whatever reason after rebooting node 1). Correlation is not causation, right?

I was contemplating on moving to 9, and maybe I will. Do I understand correctly that this post-install script is for 9, more so than older versions?

The scripts support both. For the mobile fix I believe the UI is a feature that was released in pve 9 but I might be wrong either way, the mobile nag script will only edit the file if it exists so that shouldn't be a problem. The other part of the scripts works for both to my knowledge, several people already ran it on both pve 8.4 and pve 9.

I'm more interested to know why you said the nag came back, was it related to your other issues? If no, in the future, please open the developer console and provide anything that might be written in the console.

What happened was that the subscription nag came back, all of a sudden. That's why I used the post-install-script again. And when I saw your post, I thought I'd do just that: provide feedback. And I don't even know what the mobile one is.

Its only an Change for pve9 If you Open your node with your mobile Browser.

The nag disappear If you remove your Cache

@MickLesk Will this ever get merged in the main repo? As much as the script does not really change much It seems there wasn't much feedbacks on it apart of 2/3 people in the previous issue so I can understand it has not for now. Despite that well i'm still asking since it has been some time now :)
