docker-compose split-ing docs?

https://labs.compose-x.io/apps/wordpress.html references `split` `docker-compose` files which seems to corresponding to https://github.com/compose-x/wordpress-demo (although repo location doesn't seem to be directly linked)

Is there documentation/guidance/best practices on how to `split` `docker-compose` files?
