Consumer not consuming messages from the closest replicas when setting broker in kafka config map.

As seen in librdkafka we know that we can make use of the client.rack property. However when using this property in the confluent-kafka-go and setting debug logs to all, we do not see any hint of using the closest replicas to consume messages. Is this property supported by the confluent kafka go client? If so, how do you see logs of the change?
