What versions of Kafka are supported?

I noticed that the project is built with Kafka 3.x (7.9.1 via confluent)

However, it is not clear which Kafka versions are officially supported.
For instance, I am currently upgrading to Kafka 4.x, but I could not find information on whether the connector has been tested with or supports this version.

Any relevant documentation or notes in the README regarding supported Kafka versions would be helpful.

plus one, i think 4.0.0 is not supported

get below error with 13.0.0 version of this plugin.

i tried version 15.0.0 and that works with kafka 4.0.0
