Thoughts on adding basic object metadata? Maybe last edit date?

I was working through the list of numbers in the US and though it would be nice to know if the number was from a recent mappers addition or one that had lingered for a long time.

In the case of new additions, I am usually inclined to add a note to their changeset letting them know I patched things up and thanking them for their addition (also letting them know about this great resource!). It's something I've been doing while patching up erroneously looped waterways and I like to think it helps folks:

1. know other folks are looking at and appreciating their work
2. learn the small pitfalls to watch out for.

Makes a lot of sense, I'll have a think about where best to incorporate that
