Podman 4.4.3 OS requirements for macOS

I see here: #15702 that Podman 4.2 was supported on macOS Catalina. With Podman 4.4.3, when starting the podman machine under macOS Catalina (10.15.7), I get

Error: Starting machine "podman-machine-default" Waiting for VM ... Error: qemu exited unexpectedly with exit code -1, stderr: qemu-system-x86_64: Error: HV_ERROR

What are the supported versions of macOS for Podman 4.4.3, and have I missed this documented somewhere? (I have no issue with it no longer being supported on Catalina if that's the case, but would like to know the supported versions so I don't have to react to trial-and-error by end users here)

Feels like there's a good chance that this is actually qemu dropping support for older macOS. From https://www.qemu.org/download/#macos:

QEMU requires the most recent macOS version that is currently available. Support for the last previous version will be dropped two years after the current version has been released or when Apple drops support for it, whatever comes first.
