macOS GPU resource sharing

Is it possible to share GPU resources with Podman containers, similar to how Nvidia GPU resources can be shared with containers on Linux/Windows?

Please let us know, I haven't been able to find any info on how to do so.

Well yes and know. You can switch to krunkit, but need to get the bugfix in podman 5.1.1

So install version 5.1.1 and then with Krunkit I can have a container use GPU resources.

Hey folks! I recently installed the latest versions of podman and podman-desktop via brew and still needed to brew install slp/krunkit/krunkit.

I'm seeing the same as @zoidyzoidzoid, I don't see libkrun anywhere in the podman-desktop install for 1.16.0 (installed from HomeBrew on an M1):

I think I found the issue. The brew Formula here needs to be updated to include the krun binary, and maybe also the other files introduced in #23079

They're in the .pkg

@zoidyzoidzoid You're right. The podman releases in GitHub do bundle krunkit, but the brew version doesn't. If you only install podman-desktop but not podman, the first will detect that it's missing and will download it from a release, which does have krunkit bundled. If you install both from brew, podman-desktop detects that's already available and won't offer downloading it.

As you said, I think the brew formula for podman should be updated to include krunkit (cc/ @chenrui333).
