Podman container construction dependent on cgroup version?

I was just curious about something. Is the "physical" construction of a container dependent upon the version of cgroup (v1 or v2) that is active at the time a container is created? I'm going to experiment a bit but thought I'd ask here.

I was only asking in case it made a difference and if one upgraded their version of cgroups would it be better to reconstruct their container(s).
