Gemini and square brackets

Hello, I'm very new to continue, so forgive my ignorance.

I believe I'm running into #2651, where gemini swallows or otherwise mishandles square brackets.

Is there some kind of workaround to keep using gemini, or do I have to switch to a different model? I am using the default agent, but swapped claude for gemini, because I already pay for it. I'd prefer to stick with gemini rather than pay for yet another AI.

With a little guidance I could maybe help out with this issue, but for now I have too much to learn I think.
