How to change model download location?

Hi all,

When I download the models on Debian 12, they are go under /var . I would like to download the models essentially somewhere else. I added the line export OLLAMA_MODELS="~/ollama_models" to my ~/.bashrc file but this didn't seem to make a difference. Could anybody help me with this issue?
