Hi @kpmcdona63, Can you send me a link to a (test) page in your app where I can see the buggy behavior? Send me the link and login credentials to my email: [email protected] I don't need to access the Builder, just a dummy or that real page page in the app. I won't sumit or change anything. Norm |

Hi @kpmcdona63, I am reviewing opened issues and saw this one. We exchanged several emails, but I lost track of progress... Can you check and see if you still have the bug and if not, close the issue please. Cheers, |

Hey Norm,
I have re-tested and the _sfv keyword is working fine. I have updated the
issue ticket accordingly but don't have permission to mark it closed.

Thanks for confirming :) About Closing, I was referring to the issue #543 that has been created from this discussion. But that's ok, I just closed it. Cheers, |

Hey all - I am delighted that the _sfv keyword has been made available in the new update! It solves a problem I have had for a long time - that of setting a field's default value based on a field in the parent record. Unfortunately, I am not able to get ktlRefVal to work with it. The keyword works fine when I hard code a value, but ignores any attempt I make to get the reference value to populate.
_sfv=[Project Status, ktlRefVal], [ktlRefVal, Status, Current Project Details]
The page has a Details view called 'Current Project Details' that contains a multiple choice field called 'Status'. The page also has a Form view that has a multiple choice field called 'Project Status'. So far I have tried using the actual field IDs instead of field names, and I have even tried just adding a short text field to the details view with a test value as the reference field. No luck.
Any ideas for troubleshooting?
UPDATE: When I tested using a short text field on the form as the field to be set I got "ktlRefVal" in that field. This implies to me that _sfv isn't seeing ktlRefVal as a reference value at all - just as plain text.
_sfv=[TESTING, ktlRefVal], [ktlRefVal, TEST SOURCE, Current Project Details]
