csp-atmospheres -> string to long

Hi, i can run CosmoScoutVR only without atmosphere, as i get get the error: string to long when loading csp-atmo
i assume it has to do with missing files.

i use the CosmoScoutVR model -> yet the /share/data folder is missing, yet i took the files from here (which are stated in the json) -> do i need to switch to Bruneton model? Or are more files missing (that are hardcoded)?

sry for my uneducated guess - didnt had that much time to read the code

Hi, that is unfortunate. I need some more information from you:

• Which version of CosmoScout are you running?
• Did you build it yourself or did you use one of the releases from GitHub?
• Which operating system are you using?
• What GPU is in your system?
• Can you send me the complete console output?

Hi and thank you for your quick response,

my main goals was that i need a list of needed files to be present to run csp-atmo - as i highly suspect missing files in our fork/compile

i can provide these information next week, as currently our SchoolLab is having a class over.

GPU: 3060 (ti)

sry for me not being that helpful, but yesterday i had like 50min to check for the error and was the first time on the machine that runs CosmoScout for us.

plus i have 6-7h to test the issue.

ok - looks like a wrong config or problem with CosmoScoutVR -> as with this i have Brunetone Atmosphere showing

so the error is just with when using model CosmoScoutVR -> so i assume wrong json/config and/or missing files

the error i have with Bruneton is that the "right eye" is doing fish-eye while the left is straight/flat -> maybe its because of the scale-factor mismatch (that i will fix in my config tomorrow)

even after a recompile i get the "string too long" error in csp-atmosphere with model CosmoScoutVR
but, now Bruneton works flawlessly
yet, the changes to use "Icaros" have been reverted
will take some time to make it work for me

yet, would be great if CosmoScoutVR model will work

I will have a look, why the "CosmoScout VR" model doesn't work. It's a little difficult for me to reproduce your use case, as the repo is a fork of a fork of CosmoScout and each repo seems to have it's own changes ontop of the other.

I found the source of the "string too long" error. This line fails, while trying to load the model.glsl file: https://github.com/cosmoscout/cosmoscout-vr/blob/main/src/cs-utils/filesystem.cpp#L74

It looks like C++ cannot (easily) load a string of that size.
