There are two statuses in your screenshot, so in case you are also referring to that first entry: note that the only time the “Draft” status is shown there is for entries that haven’t yet been saved at all, and are still in an “unpublished draft” state. So even if the draft is enabled, it’s not going to start showing up on the front end until the “Create entry” button is pressed. As for the second entry, I can see how that could be a little confusing if the entry is enabled, and has only been disabled in the user’s unsaved changes. If we were to pull in the canonical entry’s status there, that could also be a little confusing though, since that would be the only data shown there which isn’t pulled from the provisional draft (which stores the unsaved changes). The entry title and all other columns will all come from the draft. And Craft shows that “Edited” badge to clarify that you’re looking at draft info. |

I don't have a strong opinion on this, but apparently the fact that the index pulls data from the provisional draft can be confusing for authors. See #17892 The It could be nice to be able to "toggle" the preview between current and edited data, but it would also add complexity. |

I'm interested in whether I'm alone here, but we face issues here specifically with the Entry Status.
The problem is our authors sometimes forget to save, and then they look at the entry and think it's been disabled so the content doesn't matter, but in fact, it is still enabled and not yet saved.
I think it would be way better if the index view showed what is currently saved, not my currently edited status/field values.
