When I create a folder in the Assets area, the "normalised" name of the folder is used to both create the folder on disk, and as the user-facing name. So, for example, "My Favourite Images (2014)" gets translated into "My-Favourite-Images-2014". It would be desirable to keep the original folder name as entered by the user as the folder name for the CP interface, and use the normalised path name for creating the folder on disk. In most cases they will end up being very similar, so users should have no problem locating related folders on disk.
