Asset indexes don't update on import

Description

When importing a post with an image not previously in the site, the image doesn't show on the front-end or CMS. If I import the feed again or update the asset indexes manually it will show.

It's a multi-site with a lot of assets and feeds running which might contribute to the issue.

Steps to reproduce

1. Setup feed via external API with asset (image) fields.
2. Import post with an image not previously in the asset library.
3. The image doesn't show on the post in CMS or front-end unless the asset indexes are updated
