This is a proposal to improve the software quality of this package, then make it v1.0.
Details
We think a few more auxiliaries should be addressed well.
- Packaging: Provide OCI images, see Automatically release Docker images to GHCR #42.
- Integration tests: Add integration tests #109, Verify integration with OpenTelemetry Collector #248.
- Documentation: Add dedicated documentation beyond a single README file.
- Usability: Make table name configurable #125.
- Usability: Exercise and optimize "first use" and "next steps" user journeys, letting it condensate on both code and docs.
- Packaging: Add traditional software packages for Debian and Red Hat systems and derivatives, including the systemd configuration currently just outlined on the README.
- Packaging: Add a Helm chart for deploying the OCI as a service in Kubernetes environments without much ado.
