I find it fascinating that not a single one of these articles seems to make even the slightest attempt to look at the issues at hand from an artist's point of view… or tries to address the concerns that have been voiced here.

@steph72 I tried to outline the motivation behind my own contributions to CC-licensed projects in my post, albeit just in passing. My main concern was writing down the thoughts I had which I hadn't seen so far in any online discussion.

I have just noticed that many artists, musicians and writers are voicing serious concerns in these discussions, but those concerns don’t seem to make it beyond this bubble, and the organization (@ccjocelyn… or… anyone?) also hasn't responded. At all.

It's (as Momo put it on Mastodon) a bit like shouting into the abyss.

But maybe that's just as well and this is simply a case of us, the artists, having taken Creative Commons for something it isn't or isn't anymore and it's time to move on and look for greener pastures. Time will tell.
