as far as I understand the task the main focus needs to be on copying the objects from one bucket to the other and the creation of the objects is only the preparation of the environment, am I correct?

Yes, you got it right.
Though I guess you don't want objects creation to take longer then actual copying, so consider making it reasonably fast if possible. And objects could be of any size too, you decide.
