Files in C:\Program Files no longer ask for admin permission to delete or copy/paste within the folder #244

Hello, after generating an autounattend file and installing Windows 11 24H2, I think some of my security features no longer work. By default I always disable UAC control but I dont think this is related to it. Sometimes I have portable apps I drop into C:\Program FIles but I am always asked for admin permission to do it. This time I do not get the admin prompts anymore. I think my security is weakened by this. Any suggestion to fix? |

When UAC is disabled and your user is a member of the local “Administrators” group, you can write and delete files in folders such as
C:\Program FilesorC:\Windows, and you won't see any UAC prompts. This is the expected behavior and has nothing to do with an unattended installation.
